Orange ‘bubbles’ are here!
Having been announced just over seven weeks previously, our production run of CIÉ/Irish Rail orange ‘bubble’ cement wagons arrived at our premises in Dublin from our factory in China on December 19th – just in time for delivery to customers before the Christmas break!
Following on from the previously-released ivory bubbles, two packs of three wagons have been produced in the orange livery: Pack E contains wagon numbers 25086VB, 25097VB and 25111VB, while Pack F contains 25107VB, 25112VB, and 25164VB. They can be purchased directly from Irish Railway Models online by clicking here, or from our stand at any of the exhibitions we will be attending. However, with almost 60% of the production run already sold, they won’t be around for long!
As well as individual numbering, other features include finely moulded plastic detail parts, etched metal ladders and walkways, and fully detailed underframe complete with discharge pipework.
Praise for the bubble in the model railway press has been universal, with Simon Bendall of Model Railway Express saying, “the ‘bubbles’ are superb”, while British Railway Modelling’s Andy York called them, “probably one of the best and finest ready-to-run wagons I have seen come to the market”.
