Magnesite Ore Wagons
Magnesite was conveyed from Ballinacourty, Co. Waterford, to Tivoli, Co. Cork once a day in distinctive covered hopper wagons which were constructed specifically for the task. This duty was almost exclusively hauled by A Class motive power and could consist of anywhere between 12 and 22 hoppers, between 1970 and the closure of the plant in 1982.
