A Silver

It runs surprisingly quiet and smooth.
Sound functions are super.
I hope the cab and engineering room lights can be in function numbers before 10.

A new locomotive for a new diorama

An excellent model that gives me the input to realize as soon as possible my very first 00 Irish diorama settled in the first Diesel Era. Now I'm waiting a good old coach or old freight wagon to couple with the locomotive!

Flying Snail?

The flying snail logo and staff catchers distinguish this one from A1 and in my view enhance the look. Surprised the silver isn’t more popular. Was it an Irish attempt to emulate the Burlington Zephyr and other sleek stainless steel American streamliners? In a way more stylish and modern looking than the subsequent greens and blacks. Before it’s time in retrospect, given the amount of silver on today’s 201 class.

What an excellent model.

What an excellent model, I was delighted when I received it, the detail and finish is second to none.
But why did I buy it when I model British outline in Northern England ? Simple, I couldn't resist it, and my excuse is that the A Class was build at Dukinfield Works, Manchester, so it can be seen on my layout on running trials. Well, that's my excuse for having one of these lovely models.

A class of its own .

Yes my IRM A Class silver livery A30 has arrived , and I have to say this model locomotive is in a class of its own straight out of the box , and the packaging is excellent to.
Well worth the wait I ordered back in 2018 knowing I have no Irish outline stock, or a inch of 21mm gauge track but went for two A class .
Really impressed and so are my fellow model rail enthusiast with the build quality and running performance, and look forward to when a sound decoder is available with the Crossley HST Vee 8 sound file . Well done IRM, and look forward to seeing if you go for the small Metrovick C Class to compliment your A Class .
