As CIÉ continued its programme of rolling stock renewal under the tenure of Oliver Bulleid, Inchicore Works turned its attention to the construction of a humble but useful flat wagon with a 12-ton capacity. Utilising a version of Bulleid’s patented triangulated chassis developed as the basis for a variety of CIÉ wagons, a total of 79 were turned out between March and April 1958. CIE LB Flat Wagon Pack 2.

At long last, the Permanent Way Department Irish wagon in 00 scale. A simple wagon for the Irish Railway fleet of yesteryear and at long last IRM the sub Accurascale hand of the manufacturer are here. I never thought they would see the light of day, to be carrying loads as a rake behind one of my Irish locomotives. IRM have captured the model excellently in these triple packs, for detail and looks. The printing and details maybe a bit basic looking for a four poster wagon, but this is how they were. The simplicity captured to a tee, but beautifully presented.

There isn't much to these flat wagons, but they are still very well decorated and detailed. A rake of these on a layout does look awesome even in their simplicity. For around £15-20 each they are well worth it compared to other flat wagons from other manufacturers that charge over £20 for similar flat wagons.
